Title: Maintenance Planning Supervisor - Food Manufacturing
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Salary: $75,000-$120,00/Year + 10% Bonus
Requirements: 6+ Years of Maintenance Planning in a Manufacturing Role (Food Preferred) and extensive experience with supervisor experience in a Maintenance Role. Candidate must have precision and preventative maintenance experience in a high-speed environment.
What You Will Be Doing
Promote and drive safety improvements within planning team, entire maintenance team, and across entire site.
Overall success of the planning function, including direct supervision.
Visiting the job site of all new maintenance work orders to confirm scope of work and develop a preliminary estimate of labor and material requirements and recording these decisions on the Planning Checklist.
Collecting the information needed for the written job plan.
Identifying lockouts, tag-outs, and permits needed.
Estimating the labor hours needed to perform the work, both rough and detailed as required.
Determining parts, materials, and special tool requirements.
Providing a cost estimate to include labor, materials, and contract services.
Initiates pick lists for Storeroom parts and materials.
Writes purchase requisitions for direct purchase of outside parts and materials.
Assembling the complete and final "Job Package" and communicate to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Ensuring that all information needed to support the planning process is complete, accurate and readily available to everyone.
Reconciles the demands for work (man-hours needed) with available resources on the Weekly Schedule and Shutdown Schedule.
Identifies the need for "borrowed" manpower from other areas. Identifies work that can be performed by "helpers" or Contractors as an alternative.
Updating the EAM files and backlog to reflect the work completed.
Updating equipment history files with information that will improve the planning for future events.
Coordinating and exchanging common planning information with other Planners.
Prepares the preliminary schedule for the Shutdown events. Facilitates the discussion during the various preliminary Shutdown meetings.
Publishes and distributes the final Shutdown Schedule prior to the event.
Coordinates definition of manpower requirements for Shutdown events.
Uses MS Project to produce a "timeline" chart for the Shutdown.
Prepares the information and statistics for the post-Shutdown Lessons Learned Meeting.
Site super user for maintenance systems and processes.
Train, coach and mentor Maintenance Techs, Planners and Operations on EAM.
Create Standard Work for Planners to be used at site and across PCB.
Set up reoccurring PM's and PdM's at site.
Create site reports and KPIs.
Participate in Project meetings - Requirements, Maintainability, Equipment Reviews, Etc.
Lead initiatives/projects to improve Work Management Process such as planning, BOM creation, Job plan, etc.
Oversee the planning, scheduling, PM and plant outage activities.
Maintain consistent workload across planning team.
Coach, mentor, develop and discipline planning team. Work to continuously improve the skills of the planning team to drive business results.
Coach and mentor others outside of Maintenance on best practices, process, roles, and responsibilities to drive improvements across the site.
Monitor and improve processes, procedures, and equipment to reduce or eliminate safety hazards and risks in the Maintenance department with a goal of achieving a zero lost time accident record.
Recruit, hire and develop site Planners
What You Need for this Position
Seven or more years of engineering or maintenance experience in a food processing plant environment preferred.
5+ years using CMMS systems. Infor EAM experience is desirable.
Knowledge of Maintenance Management principles including but not limited to Precision Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Shutdown and contingency planning; desire to work with maintenance disciplines as a team.
6+ years as a Maintenance Planner or similar work.
3+ years as a Maintenance Supervisor
