Position Overview
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires an understanding of electrical systems, materials, and labor costs, and the ability to analyze project specifications to generate thorough estimates that align with the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, and overhead
  • Utilize estimating software such as Accubid and Livecount to create accurate estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates meet project requirements
  • Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and assess project conditions
  • Analyze historical data to improve estimation processes and accuracy
  • Present estimates to management and clients as needed
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimation templates for future projects

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience as an estimator in the commercial construction industry (electrical experience preferred)
  • Understanding of electrical systems, materials, and labor costs
  • Familiarity with estimating software, particularly Accubid and Livecount preferred
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and other construction-related software preferred
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred
