We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Malpractice Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare-related litigation, specifically in defending physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers against medical malpractice claims. This position requires excellent analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills, as well as the ability to manage complex caseloads from inception through resolution.
Represent healthcare professionals and institutions in medical malpractice litigation.
Conduct all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Work closely with clients, expert witnesses, and internal legal teams to build robust defense strategies.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
Appear in court for hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials.
Analyze medical records and consult with medical experts to assess the merits of claims and develop defenses.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant healthcare laws and regulations.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Florida.
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical malpractice or healthcare litigation.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex cases with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, courts, and colleagues.
Trial experience in medical malpractice cases.
Experience working with insurance carriers or self-insured healthcare organizations.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare compliance standards.
