Title: Principal Civil Design Engineer

Location: Santa Clarita, CA

Compensation: $100K-$135K DOE + OT Eligible

Award winning, multi-discipline planning, design and engineering firm with over 65 years of serving clients in both the public and private sectors. We maintain divisions that focus on civil engineering, urban design & planning, community planning, landscape architecture, transportation & traffic engineering, surveying, mapping, aerial photogrammetry, water resources, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and 3D laser scanning.

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Engineering Designer to lead our design team. The primary objective of this position is to oversee the design of civil engineering projects and manage the team to ensure successful project completion within budget and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality projects
Create design plans, specifications, and reports for various civil engineering projects
Review and approve design plans and calculations
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and industry standards
Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project requirements are met
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on land development
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
Strong knowledge of grading, residential and subdivision design, specifications, and public infrastructure
Experience in street, hydraulic, and storm drain design
Excellent project management and communication skills
Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, EIT considered
